There can be a lot more advantages in taking online LPN programs in online LPN schools rather than take campus-based nursing courses. For one thing, medical courses are a bit pricey in the US and in order to pay for school expenses, most licensed practical nursing students have to work a job or two to be able to sustain those needs. With LPN programs being held online, LPN students are assured that courses that fall under this program will be offered the whole year round. They can save time from having to travel the distance from work going to school then to their homes by just simply logging online in the comforts of their home after work.

The downside there may be with regard to online LPN programs would be the lack for teacher-student interaction. The online LPN student may have to wait a day or two before his or her question gets answered by the instructor. One other disadvantage would be power outages where some online sites do not offer refunds for classes you might miss.

After graduating from these courses, you could be qualified as a licensed practical nurse or licensed vocational nurse.  Both jobs take orders from a registered nurse or from a physician and in assisting patients go about their particular daily routines. The only difference between an LPN and LVN may be the required number of hours for their continuing education program which may vary from state to state.
